What is Kansalaisuuskurssi?
Migri's official study material is published around the turn of the year 2026/2027. Until then, the course covers Finnish society in 9 chapters built on public sources, such as Finnish law and official information.
Every chapter has its own lessons, its own questions and a list of difficult words. The questions have an explanation and a source, so that you see what the answer is based on. The chapters cover the areas Migri has named for the test, and we update the course against Migri's material when it is published.
- 9chapters on Finnish society
- 27lessons in plain language
- 180questions with explanations

Who is the course for?
You are between 18 and 64 and going to apply for Finnish citizenship.
The knowledge requirement applies to applications made from 1 March 2027, for applicants aged 18 to 64.
You read Finnish or Swedish as a second language.
The test is taken in Finnish or Swedish. The course explains the content in plain language: short sentences, one message at a time and the difficult words explained.
You cannot show the knowledge in another way.
Anyone with a Finnish- or Swedish-language matriculation examination (ylioppilastutkinto) or higher education degree completed in Finland does not need the test. Read the guides about the requirements.
You want to know what actually applies.
Migri has not published the exact pass mark, the number of questions or the test time. We write what is known, with a source, and say clearly what has not been decided.
What is included in the course?

Lessons for every chapter.
All 9 chapters on Finnish society, explained in our own words and in plain language. See the full course content.
The course in Finnish and English.
The lessons are in plain Finnish, and in English when you use the course portal in English. The test itself is taken in Finnish or Swedish.
Practice questions with explanations and sources.
Every question has four options. Once you have answered, you see why the answer is correct and what it is based on.
A timed mock test.
Multiple-choice questions against the clock, mixed from all chapters. The format is our own: Migri has not published the number of questions or the test time, and we will change the mock test when it does.
Difficult words explained.
The test is taken in Finnish or Swedish, so the language matters as much as the facts. Every chapter therefore has a list of difficult words, explained in plain language.
Updates when Migri publishes its material.
Migri's study material is expected by the turn of the year 2026/2027. When the material, the test or the rules change, we update the course and write the date.
Kansalaisuuskurssi is coming as an app
The app will be released later. Until then, the course works in your browser, also on your phone.

How to study for the Finnish citizenship test with the course
Start with a chapter you know a little about. Read the lesson at a calm pace. Look up the words in the list of difficult words when you get stuck.
Answer the questions straight after. Read the explanation even when you answer correctly. The source shows where you can read more.
Go through all 9 chapters. The test covers several areas, from legislation and fundamental rights to history and culture. Do not skip the short chapters.
Take the mock test against the clock. Practise reading many questions in a limited time. The format is our own until Migri publishes the number of questions and the test time.
Revise what you missed. The course keeps track of which chapters you need to read again.

Kansalaisuuskurssi is an independent course. We have no connection to Migri, which organises the test and decides on citizenship, or to the University of Helsinki, which produces the study material and the questions.
- No official test questions. The test questions are made by the University of Helsinki and are not public. Our questions are our own.
- No guarantee of passing. The exact pass mark has not been published. The test is organised by Migri, not by us.
- No registration for the test. Migri organises the tests and will publish the test dates and how to register by the turn of the year 2026/2027 at the latest. Read the guides.
- No language test. The course covers knowledge of Finnish society. Knowledge of Finnish or Swedish is a separate requirement for citizenship, and the course does not cover it.

Frequently asked questions about the course
Is Kansalaisuuskurssi an official course?
No. Kansalaisuuskurssi is an independent course from Znoff AB and has no connection to Migri or the University of Helsinki. The course is based on public sources, and the lessons and questions are our own. We update the course against Migri's study material when it is published.
What does the course cost and when can I buy it?
The course costs €9.90 per month, €24.90 for three months or €49.90 for a full year, VAT included. You choose a period and pay at the checkout, and the course opens immediately. You do not need to create an account first: we email you a link that logs you in. The subscription renews automatically and you cancel it yourself whenever you like.
Can I cancel the course at any time?
Yes. The subscription runs until you cancel it, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. The details are in the terms and conditions.
Are the questions in the course the same as in the test?
No. The test questions are made by the University of Helsinki and are not public. Our questions are our own and based on public sources, with an explanation and a source for every question.
Will I pass the test if I take the course?
We cannot promise that. By law, most of your answers must be correct, but the exact pass mark has not been published. The test is organised by Migri, not by us. The course helps you understand Finnish society and the words you need to read the questions.
What happens when Migri publishes the material or the format?
Then we change the course and write when it was done. Migri will publish the study material, the first test dates and how to register by the turn of the year 2026/2027 at the latest. The number of questions and the test time have not been published, and the mock test will change when they are.
